i've been looking at getting a new skirt for rear bumper of my car since the original one wasnt on it when i bought it. However when i goto subargenuineparts.com, they have 2 listed and ones like $27.00 and the other is $158.00..... The description says that the cheaper one is for the wagon so i guess my question is, can i get away with the wagon one or do i have to pay that rediculous amount for that skirt? Or does anyone have one they dont want?

if you dont know what im talking about, here's a pick to make it alittle better:

Gonna have to say you want the sedan one, since the rear bumpers are different I have a feeling a wagon would not fit properly.
Peace,

rear bumpers on the wagon are indeed different.

well thats what i figured, but if the description is for each bumper, why is one $27 and the other $158? plus i dont need the whole bumper, just the skirt at the bottom which the gt wagons have, but i dont know about the outback wagons which i think the description is talkin about.

okay, lets see if this clears things up,
the skirt and bumper is ONE piece, painted on the top (body color),
and raw on the bottom, (the matte black plastic).
at least on my GT BD.

when I took off my front Gt bumper to put on the OB,
I wanted to put the skirt (lip) on my new bumper,
thinking that the skirt was a different piece, but its not.

(ya, I know that I'm talking about the front, and your talking about the back, but i wanted to see if anyone has a two piece BD GT bumper, cause I think that there all one piece.)

so the front GT BD bumpers shells are one piece.
the rear is TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!

^^^^^^THINK was the key word

OMG, it is.

doesn't matter, the difference between the bumpers is in length (from the wheel well to the back). Unless you did some skillful cutting, the skirt would be too long.

yeah im positive the rear is two because then i wouldnt be missing the skirt  i know the wagon would be too long, but why the hell would that one be like 3x's cheaper? i just want the damn skit so it doesnt look so bad...guess ill have to keep scraping the junkyards....

No, I answered it for you

It's supply and demand. It seems to me that a lot more GT owners crash their cars

I priced the GT skirts for a 96 GT (when I had my BD). The $158 sounds right for the sedan rear bumper.

I have learned from experience, just pay the extra money and get what fits right. It will save a ton of headaches in the end, and you will wish you just spent the extra money anyway.

IIRC the two side skirts were approx $230 and the front lip was approx $185. (for a 96 GT).

Mark- if lots of people crash their GT's, why cant i find their parts? but ur still prob. right

Badbasser98- yeah i know, i dont want myself doing it because id mess it all up. it was just odd to me that parts that are that similar could be priced so far apart. o well i guess, thats just life. [/quote]

Has anyone tried to mount the side skirts on a non-GT? I know there are a few holes in the bottom of the GT to mount the skirts, but it seems like it would be easy to drill the non-GT.

Any ideas?

yeah the sides should work. i know the front skirt is part of the bumper, and of course the back skirt is seperate, but i dont think that will work. i still need to find my back skirt...

Yep. It'll fit. Same bumper, BK = BG etc.
