So on the East coast, we are getting pounded by Sandy. I have nothing better to do......

So who has any wacky or interesting stories of stuff you saw/did during the hurricane???

Only thing funny I seen was birds flying in reverse. Definitely an odd sight to see. Beyond that, where I am at in Chambersburg, Not much to report.

Im 40 mins west of Philly in West Chester and i saw trees that fell on some parked cars and one on a house that split the side of it open so you can see the bedrooms...thats about it besides being off from both of my jobs for two days now which sucks for $$$

Sucks that this is happening to yawl but now you know what we go threw here in the golf. luckily Houston rarely gets hit but we have. Ike was the last one to hit Houston so far.

My car stayed put in the garage. The Outback sat in the driveway. It was covered with pine needles and leaves when I drove it to work this morning.

We lost power due to some 75mph wind but was quickly back on since we were 1 of 35 of the people that lost power in the county.

My power flickered off for about 5 minutes but that was it. I live by the conewago and codorus creeks so our area was pretty much closed in until yesterday morning

I'm in Fanwood NJ. We are without power, maybe back in 7-10 days. Water is ok, natural gas is ok so I got a hot shower in last night, borrowed a generator from my uncle in Western NY, so fridge runs and I can charge electronics occasionally. Family is safe and sound. Subaru not so much.

A wind gust came through town and knocked dozens of trees down, every one of them failing in the same direction. You can see lines of fallen trees, straight across town. My Subaru was in that line. A tree fell across the front of my house and crushed the car sitting in the driveway. The tree landed on the windshield and hood. The driver's window blew out. I'm not sure if the suspension is broken or it's just the weight of the tree still on the car.

The tree also took out the power line from the street to my house. Today, we finally were able to contact the electric company who told us no sooner than Monday to get a crew out here to reattach my service to the pole, something about the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one (house, that is). It's not like anyone else has power anywhere near me, so I really don't feel left out. Most roads have trees blocking them. No service will touch a tree that is touching power lines, have to wait for the power company to clear the lines and there are a lot of trees on the power lines.

I lost the Subaru, but the next door neighbor lost the back corner of his house when the next tree in line fell, opening up his son's bedroom to the outside world. Everyone is ok there as well. We were fortunate, a car can be replaced easier than closing up a house.

I'm guessing that I will have some parts to sell unless I can find someone who wants to part with a second gen Legacy soon. Mine is a white 97 L sedan, maybe a GT or an SUS would be nice. I do like the sedan over the wagon.
