I have an SLi pedal that Steve kindly sent so I can see his awesome work. Even with it being a raw design, before he did some tweaks this is an awesome piece. I already have it in stalled and it fits PERFECTLY!

I've been talking with Steve for week about this GB. He was aware of the battery tie down fiasco and he wanted to assure everyone that this wasn't going to be the same things. I can do Wrinkle Black with confidence. I also have an anodized red however the color has more a pink look to it. I can post a picture if you'd like. If you are after another color let me know and I can see what I can do (would be a longer wait time on production however)

There are 3 or 4 different designs for the Legacy dead pedal. I have the rough designs that Steve has made. One design like the SL-i, the sideways design, and a design that steps down from left to right.

Sure! The only thing I would like you to think about is a lot of my pedals I do the engraving through the powder coat, gives it that high contrast look, something not easily done if at all with spraying after engraving. Also something else to consider is does he have a dual voltage PC gun? The powder doesn't like to lay in the letters due to the nature of electrically charging the pedal and particles.

I just wanted to make it a point to explain to everyone. I can do custom pedals however I usually like to add an additional charge to that since it actually takes me a good half an hour if not more to do custom work. What I've created so far has been a long time in design and concept.

As for brushed, powder coated, filled in letters and what not that I don't mind adjusting those variables per order. For those who have sent me requests already I am working to make designs that are both what you want and something I can continue to manufacture for other customers. Don't take this as me being rude, I just don't want to be stuck designing 20 custom pedals for the next week, haha. If you would like something custom please by all means send me a private message and we can work something out outside of the group buy or perhaps I can count it with the group buy depending on the terms.

Group buy is at 5 pedals, get those orders in and we can get the first lot of 10 machined and shipped!!

I actually had been meaning to try this for sometime but got off track. Well I tried just to get the color into the letters. Here is what I got.

Remember this was my scrape pedal so I used it as my piece to try out the concepts.

Overall the method I found for getting the powder into the letters worked, it doesn't look perfect but I don't know how often someone has their head 6" from your pedals, haha.

I will be trying to fill in with the anodized red tomorrow on another pedal and am hoping for a fantastic outcome!

Note: The process can leave small amounts of powder coat still on the surface outside of the letters. You can't see it in the picture but my eye can see it

My bad guys, actually forgot to draw this one up. I made a very rough concept to show how it would look on the pedal as well as sizing. The letters still need to be refined if this works for you guys. Also the font is from the image posted earlier in the thread, I have software that rips the image and converts it to a vector image for my design work. You will notice some of the letters look more curved, don't worry if this is what you guys want I'll clean it up and give everything the rounds and straights needed to make the pedal you guys want!

Technically yes I can however I will caution you in that the red powder might leave some small deposits on the wrinkled black, it is an annodized red so it really shouldn't be noticable but I don't see that being an issue at all to do!

I've heard all about that fiasco and am friends with 6 people who are users on here, 3 of who also were in that group buy. I've seen what they look like and its nothing short of garbage.

I am trying to start my own business that I hope to make my main source of income and be known and respected in the Subaru community. That doesn't happen with half*** work and cutting corners. I'm not trying to give you the salesman pitch, its just I very much get the biggest grin on my face when someone tells me they love the product. I'm not afraid to say it, this is all new to me (The business side of this, I've been in manufacturing for a few years).

I guarantee you'll be happy with what you purchased!

This is how I spent the past hour, and I'll be doing the same with the Forester model here soon. Every line is redrawn, I measure and move the letters so everything looks proportionate. So you can be assured what your getting wasn't just put together the few minutes before machining!

I completely forgot to mention this. These will work for vehicles that don't have the 2 holes in the floor. What I've come up with is you can adhere it to the floor. There were quite a few Legacy models that used a pedal that was adhered to the floor. If you would rather mount it you can do so by drilling two 7/16 (11mm) holes and then using fasteners (part number still being researched) to hold it to the floor!

I can tell you that you can also use an adhesive to hold it to the floor or existing pedal. I've sold a few to my friends who did that and it works great. Once I get the fasteners from my local dealership I can cut off the fastening portion so they are just the head and adhere it into the two holes I have on the pedal, giving it the cosmetic look as if it was fastened to the floor.

If you don't feel like drilling the adhesive option is always there, even just double sided tape works.

I got a question!
If I get the blank wrinkle powder coat, is it powder coated and then milled? So it looks similar to the STI one in this picture Reason posted?

Or is it milled then powder coated? So it is completely powder coated with no metal showing?

As of right now for how powder coat acts, I powder coat then engrave through it. The electric charge that helps deliver the powder from the gun acts weird with the small groves that are the letters and they don't fill. So for right now its powder coated then engraved.

Which gives it high contrast IMO :)

Mine gets that as well, it gives it a more "Subaru" feel IMO, I did try to put down a coat of clear however because there is no primer to help adhere it to the surface it literally rubbed off with my finger.

Well you are in luck then! I ship via USPS, not the quickest but for the size of my part they ship for a decent price and arrive in a decent time (Don't know when anyone would ever need a pedal Rush Delivered, haha).

02_Legacy - where did you buy the pedals? How easily did they install?

Those are actually Subaru OEM parts for a WRX, the clutch and brake pedals just slip on like the stock rubber ones, the gas pedal was a little harder to install as you have to remove the assembly and drive out the retaining pin, switch the pedals and then reassemble everything. Unfortunetly not right now, I am working with a company to get an anodizing setup going but its pretty extensive with multiple buckets, dyes, heaters, battery acid (Picture a small meth lab :roll: ). Until i get that going I am limited to current finishes.

Guys I am EXTREMELY sorry for my delay and absense on orders and updates. Between some personal things that have come up, school (yes I am still working on my Bachelors in Manufacturing Engineering & its finals coming up next week), and the holidays I've been trying to keep everything running smooth.

I do want to keep a good name on here and also help build trust in vendors on this site after some of what I've heard. I hope my past sales and customers speak for my stance on running this group buy, I sincerely do apologies for my absence.

If I do not fulfill your orders, I will issue you both a refund in the full amount to make all fair so I'm not holding onto any deposits until after the holidays when I can resume manufacturing.

Unfortunetly right now all orders are being held off till after the holidays. I am looking to purchase a small CNC here over the next two weeks and if that goes over well I might be able to run some production earlier than I have noted, but that is very very optimistic.

Just an update to everyone,

As mentioned I will not be producing any more pedals until after January 15th!

I just had a rough week of finals and it appears I might be coming down with the flu, I do have all the information from who paid and who still needs a pedal shipped, it isn't updated on here however I will have all that taken care of once I'm feeling better.

I am still taking requests for pedals, just remember there will be a delay and I ask payment not be sent until I message you for it. If anyone has already submitted payment and would like a refund until I am ready to ship your pedal I will gladly issue that for now.

I was away on a business trip for the majority of this week, shouldn't say where "Cough" Vegas "Cough". Big conference for marketing that I wanted to attend with a good friend. I started getting everything organized and got all my material and everything read, I'll be running pedals Tuesday! I know the delay has been awhile but I assure you these will be Top Priority!

UPDATE:

Alright guys figured I'd give you an updating while I'm sitting at my desk and the snow is coming down.

I have run all the pedals through the first two operations. Here you can see After completing the first operation and the second machining perimeter).

I am on track to have all the pedals deburred, brushed/powder coated and in for engraving on Tuesday!

The delay has been in part to issues with the machine shop I use and also my car has been making a lovely popping noise from the rear, we think its my CV assembly but until I get the new one swapped in we have no idea. Hope everyone has a good weekend and if your in the snow area be safe this weekend!

Giving you guys a little update!

Been working on pedals for the past 6 hours, I have several orders filled and have a few others that are waiting on the powder coated ones to run tomorrow. After that I should have about 90% of the orders filled and shipped by Friday! Longest part so far is the hand brushing of the pedals and the powder coating process, luckily that is out of the way now.

Had mine delivered to my parents house, just a more secure delivery there. Picked it up last night, looks great, and overall very professional right down to the stickers on the plastic bag and on the back on the dead pedal!

I have one of the powder coated SLi ones. I may post a pic of it install, it's not installed yet, on this thread to give people an idea on how theirs will look.

As of right now I am going on a per order basis since I am loosing my access to the CNC's that I have been using. :smt022 So get the orders in, I will run some extra "SLi" ones and such so I should still have some stock left over even after I lose my access. I currently am however working on getting a 3D printer for company and personal use, that would allow me to print a number of small parts in plastic (ABS or PLA; Think Lego's). Parts would need to be smaller than 8.5 x 8.5 x 8.5!

Please excuse the dirt and crap that makes up my interior carpet. I snapped this a few days ago. The installation was a piece of cake. I felt really bad putting my snowy shoes on this but it seems like it can take the abuse.
There's a wet shoe print on it!

great idea sorry to hear you lost access to your equipment..... that always sux happened to me a few times over the years. if you get up and running id love to have a custom one done i can even send you the design in mastercam so you dont have to tweak it much

I was planning on installing mine after I dyed the carpet... but then I didn't want to wait any longer. The install took only a matter of seconds and it looks great! (ignore the dirty carpet)
