Wanting to order ACL race bearings, need help choosing

Ok so I have no idea what year car my engine came from and I want to order ACL rod and main bearings, they say there is different positions for the thrust bearing. I'll post a pic of my block halves below and maybe that will help. This is my first Subaru engine build so please don't mind the dumb questions! Sorry that it's blurry, my camera sucks.

Nearly positive your thrust bearing in in #3 position according to your photos.


Someone correct me if I am wrong... but the Thrust bearing is the one that has sides to it.

Notice that the one in the center is a different shape than the rest.

Yeah the thrust is the in the #3 position, I'm pretty sure that's a phase II engine.

This is a phase 1 and I know that for a fact. The block has the 2 lines on top. The phase 2 only has 1 line on top, if you know what I am referring to. Ill snap a pic of it and post it up

Its phase 1. Thrust on #3 with a 48mm rod journal size. You can also measure your crank main journal

Thrust on 5 have 52mm rod journal size.

Ok, 48mm would be the width of the bearing from top to bottom right? well in that sense I mean. If so would I order up these?

Sry i was assuming it was a 2.5 but it could be the same. Do you have a micrometer? I guess you can use a ruler and measure the opening of the main bearing from the blockhalves. More accurate would be micrometer and measure the crank mains.

Actually before you start ordering, you should take it to a machine shop and get your block,heads,crank.. etc .... and have them cleaned inspect and measured. Then they will tell you if its within spec (ask for the specs) then go on from there. Dont order stuff not knowing that what your building is ok to rebuild.

The motor has only around 100k on it and the insides are mint, ill try and find my micrometer but I'm sure its just standard size.

I don't think this is true. I'm tearing down a 98 ej25d engine right now and it only has 1 line on top but it has the thrust bearing on #3 and 48mm rod journal size. Meaning phase 1.

Also I edited on my previous post I wrote down 48mm mains but I meant 48mm rod journal size. FIXED!

It is true for the EJ22, and I know that for a fact because my buddy was here with his impreza which has a phase 2 EJ22 and there is only 1 line right there. The EJ25D is different
