Anyone know what this is? Sorry for the heavy breathing, I'm sick as shit. It would click under the hood some types, dome light worked. Radio reset itself, the headlights wouldn't come on on acc.

hard for me to tell right now. When you go to start the car, does the starter just click once and then stop?

Yeah, if I hold the key on it'll click, then it'll sometimes click again. I hear a fast ticking almost like a buzzing sound inside the car at the same pace as the gauge lights flickering.

Took another video today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yf8yX7n ... ata_player (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yf8yX7nOV6E&feature=youtube_gdata_player)
Also I tried to tighten down the negative end link a little more, I barely put any pressure on it and it snapped in half, it's only a few months old. The negative post is somewhat chewed up and the top of the battery has some dents in it.

I seem to have the same thing:
2001 BH Manual transmission:
Started fine this morning
later on turn the key to start and I hear one click then nothing works, radio dash even the door open symbol is gone.
After a short while the electrics come back but turn the key and repeat.
I've read about Solenoid contacts and I've had that on toyotas but I don't see why that would kill all the cars electrics.
I've read about the rear of the ignition switch being a bit crap.
Firstly I've got to find the satrter relay and have a look at that.

Well found it was the +itive terminal on the battery that had been massacred and badly botched, I have rebotched it a bit better and have ordered a new subaru one.
I have only had this car a week so its the first time I've removed the terminal cover....

I have the same issue in my '99 OBW, but it only happens on occasion (typically on the first start of the day, after an especially long drive the day before or a cold night.) It will typically start after ~5 tries, and rarely happens again after driving the car for even a couple minutes. My battery is super old and needs to be replaced, but this seems more like a starter issue... Anyone know?

Sounds like your battery specially when you mention "after a cold night"
Replace the battery and then do some diags to see if the issue is still persistent .
