Ok so I have a 2000 lgt 5 speed and one morning before work something went wrong leaving me stuck. Its hard to explain but what happens is when I put it in any gear, the car will barely move at all and the engine will rev up but not really go anywhere. I knew there were hotspots on my flywheel because the clutch would shudder once in awhile ever since I bought it, also my input shaft bearing was making noise and it popped out of 4th on decel. So knowing all that I swapped a 97 lgt trans into it with a new clutch and flywheel. I put it back together and the problem still exists. The slave cylinder doesn't seem to be sticking at all so I started looking toward the rear diff. I checked both rear axles and wheel hubs for any teeth broken arrow that the axle could slip but I found nothing. I pulled the rear apart and everything looks good inside, the only thing that seems wrong is that I can't get the side or spider gears to turn. Would that cause my problem or does anyone have any other ideas as to what it could be? Thanks for any help

So just a recap, new transmission, clutch and flywheel did not change the problem at all? and what is happening is that you can let the clutch out in gear and the vehicle wont move and the engine wont die...
You watch the drive shaft to decide if it is a problem in the front or the rear, if the drive shaft turns the problem is in the rear, if it does not it is elsewhere.
The weird thing is you don't here any noise, to me it must be a clutch problem if there is no noise associated with it, you don't smell burning clutch at all when this happens?

You got the jist of it, and no I don't smell the clutch and the one I pulled out of the car actually was not bad but the flywheel was so I can't see how it could be the clutch assembly or a trans problem and when I put it in the air and let the clutch out all but the driver side rear tire spins

Well it looks like a lot of people looked at this but probably couldn't help, I just got the problem solved today it turns out that the side gear and spider gear that were jammed together was the problem, I swapped in a used rear diff and problem fixed. I've never heard of gears causing a slip but I'm guessing the viscous didn't like that they wouldn't move so it was slipping to try and fix the problem
