is that a rotary engine?
I was gonna say "hell no, you dumb-ass " but upon looking at the engine more thoroughly, it looks like it IS a rotary
J/k Mark, all in good fun!
So, yeah, is this thing Wankelizing or what?

No rotary's here, just a 2.3l inline 4 with a T3 on the side...

Escort EXP?
note: That is a wacky intake manifold. It makes it look like a rotary.

Escort EXP?
These cars are mistaken for Escort's unfortunately, but they were developed seperately from the 'scort.
A hint: it's an '86

Oh I know exactly what it is. It's a Merkur XR4Ti. A Ford Sierra overseas.
I agree with Mark though, the intake manifold looks like a rotary.

ahhh, the Merkur.
I was thinking Ford/Mazda, because they both had the same 2.3L.
I do believe they made a 626 hatch. Not entirely sure though.

We have a winner!!!
It's one of the forgot turbo Fords. Same engine as the Mustang SVO and Thuderbird TurboCoupe. Both of those had a TMIC (hench the stupidly position TB/upper intake). The Merkur didn't get an intercooler.
And the intake mani is a pain in the butt (thanks Ford  )

I'm in the process of replacing all gaskets and hoses, adding a FMIC, bigger airmeter, better ECU, replacing all bushings, removing weight, replacing wheel bearings, replacing brakes, ..... hmmm what else....
oh yeah removing the crappy auto tranny and putting in a Mustang T5
