Just got a 1994 legacy touring wagon with the EJ22t hooked up to an auto trans.

I'm looking to swap just the motor to into my 1995 legacy L, also with an auto, but with a seized engine

The motor is complete and I'm looking for links or info for this swap, all I can find on nasioc, usmb, legacygt are hybrid builds and swaps that aren't the same... I'm also on an iPhone so research + a notebook is kicking my ass...

Any links help!

Also down to do a build, I plan on tearing the 22t all the way down, giving it a clean and paint, what all should I replace on a motor that has 189k mi?

Also for the build, I'm leaning toward a budget of about $500 to get it in and running, then can upgrade farther from there..

Decent low end power with a nice mid pull and decent top end..

Check the rod bearings and clearances. I also thought I could get out of my engine build for $500 or less.. and I am already past that with my motor still not together. See if they make a MLS head gasket for the 22T if so swap that out while your in there.

Looking at a ej20g head swap with the ej20g ecu to stay obd2, sti pistons and rods, a wrx tmic, 400-600cc injectors, td04 or vf39...

Is there a huge difference betseen using the dohc ej25 instead of the ej20r heads? Probably easier to find the matching IM for the 25

I'd go with wrx heads, then you can use the wrx wiring and ecu and be able to hook a cobb access port up to it.
