Swap - 1st generation 2.2 engine into a 2nd generation

Hey. I'm wondering if a 1st generation Legacy 2.2 engine will fit in my 2nd generation Legacy with a 2.0 engine. I want some more power. And what about the wiring? I have the whole car, the 1st generation.

Edit: These are EU-cars. I'm from Norway. The 1st generation is 92 model and the 2nd generation is 96 model.

Just to clarify.. the 2.2 you are asking about.. is that the non turbo or turbo model? I will assume its the turbo version.

The motor will fit. However that engine is OBDI and the heads flow poorly. You can swap just the block and keep your heads, intake manifold, and accessories however you will need some sort engine management.. either a piggy back to adjust air fuel ratio or a standalone that is dedicated to handle all engine controls.
