My car started throwing miss firing codes on 2 and 4 so I talked to my mechanic buddy and he suggested I get spark plugs. Installed new ngk plugs and im still getting the CEL. He says next thing to get if it doesnt clear the CEL is either fuel filter, plug wires, coil, and injectors. I already had new fuel filter, plugs, and wires since last year but I guess I got some cheap plugs but my wires are lifetime so I guess I can warranty those. Well anyways if im going to get a new coil I figure I get the MSD one. Started surfing through the forums and it seems like the MSD coil 8239 is for my car? I keep reading about phase 1 and phase 2 what the hell is that, what phase is my car 2? Does the phase have to do with the harness wiring thing? Do I have to splice the wires too doesnt the stock coil and msd coil have 3 pins and should just plug and play? Oh and im assuming its not gonna mount up correctly as I see some of you either use 1 or 2 bolts only so the mounting plate would be nice too. You guys probably know all this already but as you can see im a sli noob so any info about this or where I can get the msd and mounting plate would be great thanks again.
