Alright guys, I got my first CEL in the Flat Six. P0573 Cruise Control/Brake Switch A Circuit High. All OBDII sites say that it could be a faulty brake switch. My ABS light came on before the CEL and now both are on. What to do?

does your cruise control turn off when you hit the brake switch, and do you have brake lights? best way to test the switch is to find it under the dash and test it with an ohm meter.

Well never mind. In Miami (the worst f-ing city in the entire nation by the way), the people at Autozone won't let me use their OBD II scanners and insist on doing it themselves. The first guy (like most people here) failed to enunciate his English enough for me to comprehend that the code was actually a P0703.
I replaced the switch and the code came back. Finally, a different guy let me look at the scanner (still not letting me actually operate it) so I could see what the car is actually telling me.
I'm fairly certain this is my issue: http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/80- ... k-fix.html (http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/80-electrical-electronics/43049-abs-failure-had-cheap-quick-fix.html)
I'll report back later on to give SL-i details.
EDIT: Culprit found.

Considering the bulb housing is melted and stuck to the base, I'll see if I can get the entire lighting harness (including the reverse light) just to be double sure. To be honest, it's a bit silly that this can cause a CEL and ABS warning light...
