View Full Version : Probably over kill but adjusting headlights what way to turn

Ok, I have been trying to find this stuff for weeks now. Ive lost my mind, I cant seem to figure out what way to turn the screws to get them where i want them. I know which is which for adjusting but is it clockwise to raise or lower and vise versa. All help would be grate would love to get this done tomorrow thanks guys.

Don't worry, you'll find out when you adjust your lights. Make sure you do it at night or dark and on a level surface. Use a wall (can't remember the distance the car has to be to the wall). Then turn the adjustment and watch the light moves. Then you can adjust accordingly.

when i tried i couldnt really tell if the lights moved? until i was all done

It helps if you can use chalk lines to mark where the top of your main beam pattern is. There's a good headlight aiming guide online here:

Typically the adjustment screw that is higher up is going to be your horizontal adjustment... and the one that is lower should be your vertical IIRC.
