Ive found a set that I intended on buying. How do they go on? Double sided tape or do they replace the current plastic ones?

They are overlays .. and use double sided tape.

I did the trim tape thing... didnt work with mine so well. My foot kept hooking the driver one. I got crazy and used a couple of stainless screws, one at each end. Solved the problem.

I'm guessing you used screws that have heads that will sit flush with the door sill? I couldn't get the little clips that hold on the plastic sill to stay clipped on.

I was going to use counter sunk screw's, but I havent got around to it. yet... I'll take a pic today if I remember. The ones I used do rub or anything.

OK. Thanks. I used the heat gun to warm up the tape but I don't think it will be enough. I have some self-tapping screws but I don't know the head would leave enough clearance for the door without hitting.

You can use epoxy if you want this to be permanent.

You only need one screw for the front and one for the rear of each piece... Thats it. Low profile and just long enough to hold on to the plastic.

The most stress they get is from opening and closing the door and you getting in and out. I kept hooking my jeans on the driver side. Mind you, I have only used the screws on the driver one so far.

One of mine was accidently kicked off by a friend yesterday. Today I used my new drill and some self-tapping screws and screwed all 4 down. Apparently they were also vibrating when I turned up my "banging" stereo.

Ive just double sided taped mine down and then used the little hook looking things to kinda clamp them on. They probably are ruining my paint but they havent budged

That is what I did first. Since its winter the tape didn't work too well.
