Hello,

I have swapped a MY05 STi 6-speed DCCD gearbox + R180 rear diff on my BE5 Legacy and I keep snapping custom made rear driveshafts (R180 inner joints, Legacy stock outer joints to fit them to stock hubs).

Does anyone know if the rear hubs from 2008+ impreza STi are bolt on to BE5 chassis B4 RSK?
They look by eye what I have seen about the same but are they really much different?

If struts don't fit then can MY08+ Hatchback STi rear shocks fit to BE5?

Or is there a possibility to change the rear hub bearing assembly as it is for MY08+ STi (or other) bearing assembly so I could use R180 driveshafts?

I really want to use subaru stock R180 shafts as they are cheap and I have many spare already. :)
Also as a bonus a good thing would be 5x114,3 bolt pattern. :)

I don't think the MY05 STi is a multi link suspension (like your BE) so the rear struts will not fit.

If the rear hubs are a physical fit then they should work fine providing the mounting locations match up - again I'm not confident this would work because of the lateral link & trailing arm design differences between a MacPherson strut vehicle and a multilink one.

And if you swap to the 5x114 rear hubs then you'll need to consider swapping the front hubs also, because of the mismatched bolt pattern on wheels. Not to mention the brake calipers?

I believe elislider is doing this conversion to his BH, so you might want to check him out.

Thanks for replying Huffer.

I am not fitting MY05 impreza STi rear suspension because it is completely different than BE5 has.

2008+ impreza STi rear suspension looks like the same as BE5 but will it fit?

Ofcourse I will change the front hubs or just the bolt pattern but that is very simple: Either I modify the stock hub or buy hubs from impreza with 5x114,3 and modify hubs or struts. :)
