Okay...
I have decided to rally my 98 legacy outback limited..
What's a good suspension/ tire setup?
I want to get a lil more lift to put bigger tires and clearance..
Also I wanna get a custom light bar for my car..
Does anyone know on how to go with that...
I want the lights to set above the bumper in front of the grill...
:)
It's the winter so rain and snow are on there way :)
I here the forester strut swap gives about a couple inches lift..

1) You NEED a skid plate to protect the oil pan. That's the most important thing.
2) Forester suspension from various years will bolt straight up to the Outback. Search around for the specific years.
3) Mudflaps to keep the paint from degrading too fast
4) Lots of people get General grabber A/T or Yokohama Geolander tires. They're good on dirt but still streetable.

They also have "rally" springs and KYB GR2 or AGX's
Id get the rims they sell too if you can afford it otherwise anything 15" will work but the stronger the better and I wouldn't get anything short of actually rally tires, lots of rally teams have used ones.
Idk about the lightbars there was some floating around here that sombody made and I wanted one but I haven't seen them in a while

So I found some legacy gt wheels at the junkyard with decent tires for $80 and I got a quote for some Yokohama geolanders for 400 dollars....
Just need to look for suspension and mud
guards...
I'm custom fabbing a skid plate from some scrap metal from work...
Went to rally innovations today in Anaheim and they said they have a light bar for my BG for 180 dollars...
Pretty cheap..

depends on your budget and what course youre planning to run on... is it TSD? rallyx? Gravel? Mud? Tarmac? Just for show? Don't really understand what a lightbar would have to do with a suspension question but w/e.

If its rallycross, you should first read the SCCA rallycross rule book. You're running ahead of your wagon right now.

If you run in stock AWD, you can replace the struts with KYB GR2s. You can free up the exhaust a little bit too. You don't need much as the Outback is fairly competent stock.

Firestone Winterforce, or get some used rally tires

Make your own mudflaps - buy the truck ones from the auto store and some extra self-tapping screws.
