So while replacing my dented guard(fender) i found this floating around my engine bay, under the snorkel. It seems to have snapped of something, has 2 pipes running to the intake manifold(i think) and another hose just floating around. I cant find any obvious missing pipes nor where it could have come from.

I cant see the pic for some reason, but I'm assuming it's part of the snorkus in the right side wheel well?

If thats the case, no, not important at all. The only time it would help you is if you drove on a lot of dusty roads.

I'm pretty sure its important. I've seen it mounted up by the passenger strut but don't know what its called

That is the Charcoal canister. That my friend is important. Has to do with the fuel/vacuum system.

No sure why it's located in your wheel well though...? Should be located next to the radiator, on the top of the inner wheel well. At least thats where ours are in the states.

Burst canister...it neutralizes raw fuel from the vacuum in case of collision in front.

I found it lying between the strut and the right hand headlight. On the little shelf sorta thing where the battery is on the other side. Could someone get a photo of where there's is so i can see where to re attach it?

Right next to the upper radiator hose, air box, and ABS junction if you have one... See it?

There should be a bracket it slides right into.

Thanks for that. Its back in its spot now. Ive got no clue how it got off seeing as i had to remove the bracket to get it back on

Yep, the pic I posted was of my 96 Outback I had. My 98 GT does not have one, but Red85celica's 97 GT does. One of the random things that they changed.

Guys if it isn't in the engine compartment it's behind the passenger rear wheel. And it's a box.

And you have no evap codes and you are running the original engine?

Well I was before I did the frankenmotor. No Evap codes. No lines on the manifold for it. Nothing. Bought the car with 140k on it has 204k now.

Mine was deleted back in the day when I didn't know as much about cars on my 95 L. A friend was helping me replace the rear main, and he's pretty good with subaru's so I trusted him about it. That was years ago, and I've had no problems with evap codes and such. Original 2.2L, and there's still a line coming out of the manifold, going through the valve, and then going straight back into the manifold.
