"The recall affects all Outback and Legacy cars from model years 2010 and 2011. Also included are Tribeca SUVs from 2006 through 2012 and Forester SUVs from 2009 through 2012. Subaru says the Tribecas and Foresters were sold before January 2012."
Just so it's more clear...
Heard this on the radio this morning. However, I heard from 2006-up. Any car owner affected will get a letter from Subaru or you can just call Subaru America to find out of your car is affected.
And people, this is not anything crazy or uncommon, happens all the time. My moms Honda has a recall for the shifter, dads Toyota truck had one for tie-rods, and I wont get started on the domestic's... haha

Usually its something small like the sewn in button on the bd seatbelt that stops the latch from dropping to the floor...i even saw one for usability for the radio interface on the bd 6 disc changer.

My 98 has had 3 recalls I think. My 00 has had 3 as well.

I think it's good that Subaru is quick to recall things. Still, this is the second wiring/fire issue on the BM models...

I'm still waiting for Subaru of America to issue a recall for the EJ25D's headgaskets. It's bound to happen sometime

It's doubtful they'd do a recall on anything that old. There was a recall on the 04-07 models if the headgaskets failed with the revised design, but even that one's expired now.

When i bought my legacy i took it to the body shop i worked at the time because i had access to the alldata and that program lists all the recalls on that particular model vehicle. I was even more psyched that they were issued within 18 months after the model year began, it was nice see that they were issuing them and they werent anything that could be devastating to the car...i think the worst one was the steering rack bushings and keepers had a revision because of loosening causing exessive bump/torque steering. But the point is that subaru does not have a ton of recalls and if they do, you wont feel the downtime.
