I just got a TB for $20 and plan on giving it a slight bore and polish. I seen a DIY on scooby mods that looks pretty easy. And if I screw up it won't matter I'm just out $20. Or I can say screw it and send it to TWE and have it optimize it for $200. It should be in the next few days I'll decide then.

I think I'd just pay the $200 to have a pro do it, and not have to worry about screwing it up myself. There's plenty of things that can go wrong when you start messing with a throttle body.

It's more of just an experiment. Hopefully that engine won't be in my car much longer. Anyway $20 is nothing

Whats the do it yourself process? For $20 I'd be inclined to maybe try it on my own.

$20 is what the extra TB cost me. I'll try to find the thread later.

Sorry, yes I understand that. So, let me rephrase. If I were you, for only $20 and no risk to the motor, I would do the mod.

well, its $20 out of your wallet...but could do funny things to your motor if not tuned for it. If its drastic enough, the ECU may not adapt well enough, fast enough.

Since you aren't thinking the motor will last in your car much longer, then I'd say go for it...but for people getting a good deal on a spare TB like you, Reason, and thinking that their motor will be in the car for a while, then I'd like to give a fair shout out that messing with the TB like that could result in odd and potentially damaging issues.
