Anybody know how to replace the bulbs in the driver's door switches in a BE/BH (3rd gen)?
I see there is 1 bulb that illuminates one switch (i think the heated mirror switch) but the light for the "auto" window switch doesnt appear to be replaceable.
also i think there is a light for the mirror controls and I dont see how to fix that bulb either.

any thoughts? replacing the whole switch unit is like $150 so that's out

Take the switch out of the arm rest to start. There will be a twist socket style bulb for the heated mirror button. You can buy just that bulb at RadioShack for a couple bucks. The AUTO button is a bulb soldered to a circuit board underneath the actual switch cover that you push with your finger. It's delicate taking it apart and I almost broke mine. I've got every light converted to LED's except the AUTO one just because the simple fact is I don't want to spend $150 either.

You can also call the dealer with your VIN# and they should be able to sell you just that specific light bulb that's burnt out. There is no bulb for the mirror controls. Only heated mirrors and the AUTO function.

Cheers.
