That is a nice Legacy!
EJ208 is a JDM twin turbo engine that is pretty much the successor of the EJ20R & you'd have to do too much work to get the twin turbos to fit correctly since the brake booster is in the way where one of the turbos would go.
Converting it to a single turbo setup would be best or you could just get a 207 & rock on with that. You'd have to pretty much get into your dash & figure out the wiring to merge it w/the 207 wiring to run the engine in the car.
If you want more power out of your EJ22, you're a bit limited in that area without extensive work but you can swap it out for an EJ25D or you put your EJ22 heads on an EJ25D block, which makes for a nice torquey engine.

cool... maybe ill do some work on the stock motor when i rip her out... mayeb try the ej25d block head swap!!! ... yea i was aware of the brake booster problem... but a guy had fixed that using a slimmer booster out of a 1800 gl.... and he was able to leave the car LHD... but i REALLY want to get it RHD....
a buddy of mine has converted many vehicles to rhd (subarus) and says he would offer help... i know the 207 would be sweet but i was leaning toward 208 cause its a legacy motor!!! lol ...
gettin the folding mirrors too!!! yay!!!
thanks for the info... :smt005
ALSO.... u said going to a single turbo would be best.... i was thinking this but what would be needed to get that done .... and how would it affect its performance??? and would i have to get a new turbo???
is there anyone on here who has done the twin to a single????
lol sorry for writing a novel guys

nah, the twin turbo motors are kinda lame.
its no secret to the people on this forum that i am a fan of doing a custom set up.
i can give you an idea of your best options, if you can tell me your:
1) goals of power
2) budget

well im wanting to pull around 270-290 awhp to the wheels and about 270-300 awtq... after some modding and a good tune... nothing too crazy as i want to keep er as a DD
and as for spending... not quite sure... just to get the platform im hoping to spend around 3 MAYBE 4 grand tops!!!
i know im on a budget but i think i might be able to get something worth swapping in there :happy3:

300whp is kinda a pain to do on a 2.0L. i would go 2.2 or 2.5.. its just easier.
also, 290WHP is ALOT of power for these cars. to put it in perspective...
my 2.2 did 204WHP, at 3019lbs and 4.111 gears... and i beat up on mustang GTs, Nissan 350Zs, WRXs, even beat a 08 STi.
as for cost i think the best route to go is something similar to my setup...
EJ257 shortblock (because they are pretty tough)
VF43 (because it shouldnt have any problems touching 300WHP with a proper tune)
EJ20k manifold/intercooler/engine managment (inexpensive managment that is good for plenty of power, and all the sensors should be plug and play with your stock EJ22 computer)
EJ25D heads (completely compatable with the EJ20K and when 'unshrouded' properly we have pushed them to over 600CHP)
piggy back. (so you can get that power out of the stock engine managment.)
^ this setup is (IMHO) the BEST setup for a high power budget build.
another awesome setup is anothernords outback
anothernord did 300+ with a big turbo and a piggy back

awesome... im going to start working on tracking this stuff down and gettin prices... any help would be appreciated...
could i pull those numbers using a 16g... or 20g... i want a small turbo for quick spool...
looking to get under 300hp... 270s sounds perfect but if i got more i woulndnt complain...
thanks for the advice :smt029
and man do those 4.11s do work!!!
my bug eye had almost 240 to the wheels and that thing ate up a bunch of cars i never thought i would beat...
same motor and power in my forester and that rips like hell too...

I take it that you have a twin turbo??? how does the engine do for you??? still like 208s ... and do you know how much power you have???
yea i like the wing... but the thought of wingless did cross my mind.
but i still have the wing and probably will for a while :smt020

well with a 2.5 the VF43 is good with spool, and can get 300whp.
i have the VF23 ball bearing turbo on mine, and spool is fantastic, peak torque is great but it leaves me wanting more in the top end.. the torque curve is pretty much done at 5500. i have a VF39 laying around, i will likely sacrifice my low-end and put that on to get more at the top.
remember spool up is important, but the top end is where you will spend the most time when 'racing'.
turbo selection is key, because it will control your powerband.

and i found a ej257 block for cheap... would this work with the set up u were suggesting???
hmmm im wantin more a car for attacking the mountain.... and eating up the corners... quick acceleration... not looking to like drag race or anything ... maybe take it to a couple auto x events...
but i also want it good on the highway... atleast to cruise at 80ish...
thanks for all the info youve been throwing me btw!!! :smt027
been reading up alot more on the turbo selection... its such a hard decision. lol ... soo many choices
