I thought I should finally make a thread for my (new to me FXT). While I loved my Outback Sport it was always just missing something. I had looked for a lowish miles, manual Forester XT for a few years and my choices were never that great. It was either super high miles or a stupidly high price. I decided to put my Impreza up for sale in October and it sold shockingly quick. Almost immediately though I was forwarded a link from a friend at a dealership that had a car for me. I drove the FXT and loved it and signed the papers asap. So here we are.

Mod list:

Tein Street Basis Coilovers
17x8 Enkei ES Tarmac
245/45/17 Kumho Ecsta 4X
Muteki SR35 lug nuts
Rally Armor UR flaps
JNA Performance 3" catback exhaust
led license plate bulbs
yellow laminex on fogs
Hella Supertones
Osram Night Breaker headlight bulbs
Kartboy shift knob
Sony Double Din h/u

First week

So I had these lying around (day 7?)

Oddly, the only picture I have with coilovers and stock wheels

Then I came across a set of Enkei ES Tarmacs (17x8 245/45) and it promptly snowed.

Some friends and I had a bit of fun in the snow

Thanks for looking and there is plenty more on the way. Next up, 60k service. Nothing like a bunch of Extra S waiting for you on the front porch when you get home from work!

Soooo.... can I have? This fozz is beautiful.

Damn that is one good looking Forester XT. These and the Outback XTs make killer sleepers

Thanks for the kind words guys. I absolutlely love the Foz. Chris, I also looked at Outback XTs for that very reason. I went with the FXT simply because it was smaller car. It has all the room I need, plus it's quick enough stock. That being said, after I'm done with the servicing (plugs, all fluids, valve cover gaskets, etc) I'm going to go with a Cobb AP and go stage 1. I don't need it to be silly fast, I just want to improve the power a bit and make it more driveable. The AP pre-loaded tunes help tremendously in the everyday things like throttle response etc. A protune isn't out of the question either.

That foz is kick as man.. Great work!

Very nice. Can't wait to see it at the MD Meet.

In the running for most unexciting update ever I present: nothing. Well maybe not exactly nothing, but just maintence. Yay!

Quick rundown of goodies:
5qts Extra S
OEM Valve Cover Gaskets
OEM spark plug gaskets
OEM half moons
NGK iridiums

All the OEM goodies are from Jackie @ Annapolis Subaru and she's rad

Normally this is something that I would do and be totally cool with it. I was a tech at a dealer before I moved back to VA and honestly I love working on my car. However, I have no garage, it's cold, and a good friend is a Subaru master tech with access to the shop. So, in exchange for far to few dollars he replaced everything and aligned the Foz as well. He's pretty much the coolest.

That's the same reason I take my car to my buddy Keaton for most work now. I have no garage and my gravel driveway is currently home to a 7ft tall mountain of snow. Plus this way I don't have to deal with rusty bolts

Psh, he was the coolest until he gave up the scoob for a merc.

I know it took me a month to find this thread (so I spend all my time in MR1, I admit), but, IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME! Flaunt that shit girl.

Also, AVO500 turbo, front mount, and diplomatic plates...you'll need them.

Also, debadged the rear and cleaned the enitre car. As much as I love winter, spring time is fabulous as it supports my ocd cleaning.

I've been ordering and amassing goodies over the last few weeks.

Coming soon:
Kartboy Short Shift Lever and bushings
Silicone intercooler hoses
s202 hood scoop
CGM paint for the hood scoop
Kartboy pitch stop

Hopefully I should have everything in the next two weeks. The KB lever arrived early and it's in. I might try the TIC lever bushings next. Scoop and paint are on their way, and I'll pick up the hoses and pitch stop at the MachV open house next weekend.

You will have to let me know how that kb pitch stop works. I got one on here, and have a group N one on the way as well, and am looking for some comparison, son.

Quick update, hopefully it'll stop raining and I can grab some pics this weekend. I've been busy over the last few months replacing and upgrading the FXT. I'm really happy with where I'm at right now as the car is a ton of fun to drive. The next big item will be an AccessPort since I'm all caught up on maintenance now.

In the past 2 months:
Coolant flush with Subaru coolant and additive
brake fluid flush with ATE Super Blue
Front and rear diff fluid change with Extra S
Deambered and polished my headlights
Front and rear Kartboy shifter bushing
TIC lever Bushings
Kartboy short shifter
Kartboy Knob
Kartboy battery tie down
Kartboy Oil cap
Pioneer 4200dvd headunit
JDM hazard switch
Oem STI Floor mats
17x8 RPF1s
Bugeye STI hood scoop (being painted. Hopefully I'll have it on next weekend.)

I finally got around to installing a few more things and some better pictures.
A good friend of mine rattle canned my jdm hood scoop. Automotive Touchup Paint dot com mixed it well. I'm impressed.
You can also see the plastidipped grill.

STI floor mats

Wrinkle coat custom center caps for the RPF1s. I think I want some Conti DWS' now. The Kumhos are just ugly.

JDM hazard switch, Pioneer double din, Kartboy Knob, TIC Lever bushings and Kartbboy front and rear shifter bushings are in but you can't see them.

and a rear shot for fun
