does anyone else have an issue with their windows fogging up very badly and very quickly?my windows always seem to be fogging up, sometimes to the point of dripping condensation inside(which then freezes). the defrosters work and the weatherseal seems fine, but this is annoying. I've tried fog-x and some other similar things. any suggestions?

Make sure the use FRESH air, not RECIRCULATE. That should solve your issue.

its on fresh air. it actually works a little better on recirculate, but still not great.

My BD has had this problem for a few years. I know my problem has to do with a leak in my trunk and now a problem with the sunroof.

If the windshield is not fogging, then you dont have to worry about a heater core. I have had another leak I have been too lazy to look at. water on my front passenger floor pan (not coolant).

If you have a sunroof, check the drains. They can also plug up a bit.

If your A/C doesn't work, then your defroster won't work either. The A/C runs when you put the defroster on so that the moisture can removed from the air: no fogging.

Clean you vent/duct, probably has a lot leaves/dirt collected near the windshield wiper area. Open the hood, clean the vent/duct near windshield wiper. When this is plugged up, you're NOT getting full FRESH AIR from outside. When you stated "works a little better" then recirculate indicates outside vent is plugged up with debris.

vent is clean but there is no coolant in the a/c system. this seems like the most likely soulution right now. I do have a leak in my trunk around the weatherstripping too though.

Sunroof leaks, trunk seal leaks and nonfunctional A/C are the three main causes of heavy moisture in most Subarus. See it more often then not and when the car has been hit in the rear end, it can make it worse. Just seen a '98 GT that had a loose bumper beam and it was letting water in around the nuts right into the trunk.

Yeah I have no working ac and a leaky trunk. Guess that is a good place to start

you could also check to make sure your doors all have the plastic dust guards. my passenger door had a fog problem and has half the plastic gone.
