I got my self some WRX 17"s today and found out they sit very close to my struts. I can barely get my finger between the tyres and the struts. The tyres are 215/45/17. So far i dont think theyve rubbed but I just want to see if this is an issue. Everything is stock except for the wheels
Heres some photos of what im dealing with:

A gap is a gap so you should be okay with that clearance as long as it does not interfere with the wheel well on lock to lock turns.
Otherwise, that tire size does not sound right, are you sure its 215/25R17? that is a very very short tire, and would throw your speedometer off by nearly 14%!

45 sorry. Just a typo. Should also add these are the rears so far as i know they shouldnt be turning. Fronts are fine i can get full lock no problems

215/45R17 should be the same size as the stock Legacy tires. That looks like a good 1/4" between the tire and the strut, so you should be fine. I bet your old tires were just about as close.

Well, that certainly takes a load off my mind haha. Thanks :)
That's absolutely fine. Those tyres are what I had on my Liberty and it was close clearence like you posted, but no dramas whatsoever.
