Hello all,
I recently purchased a 1995 Legacy wagon that needed a clutch for $700. We replaced the clutch in a weekend and for the last couple of weeks it has run great, besides the hill holder locking up :roll:
Lately I've noticed the car start to stutter or act like it's losing power or going to stall. At first it was only in 5th, around 1700-2500 rpms and usually when I was accelerating. It started to do it more when I got below 1/2 tank of gas, so I was assuming that it is the fuel pump (on my 1996 Legacy it went out at about 220k miles and this one has 235k miles) or possibly something else with the fuel system. It has started doing it more and more, throughout all gears. Luckily the previous owner kept fairly decent maintenance records so I am going to check those out when I get off work and see what's all been done. *edit* Just ran out to the car on break and it looks like he's kept up with oil changes and replaced the starter and battery cables, and fixed the ac, nothing else left in the car.
I am also going to check plugs and wires. It hasn't thrown a CEL yet so I don't think it's misfiring or anything but it wouldn't hurt to check.
Any other suggestions or does it sound like I'm on the right path?
