I've got a '99 SUS I just bought and am fixing up. The rear seat bottom has a fairly good sized dog bite out of it. As far as I can tell, only the Outbacks got that same color combo, but SUSs are pretty hard to find. Anyone know if one out of a BG Outback wagon work?

No... BD does not fold. Not sure what you're talking about the not matching though. You should have dark gray/black leather or cloth. If it's leather it's the same as GT Limited.
Post a pic so we can see what it looks like.

It looks like a cloth BD seat in Outback colors.
I know wagons fold, but the hinges are a separate piece from the cushion. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the cushion itself was interchangeable.

I would look for a GT seat. I'm betting they are the same.

I've removed the lower back seat cushion in a BD several times and there is not much structure under there, just enough for the bolt mounting holes. Since the BG folds forward it has a bunch of extra structure to create the bed so I'm going with the cushions don't swap. You might be able to pull the skin and modify it to fit your cushion though I have never tried it.

Thanks guys.
Upull yard had 3 BG Outbacks. I pulled the rear seat bottom out of one. $7.
Bolted RIGHT into the BD. No, the tiedown brackets from the BD seat weren't removeable, but the hinges from the BG seat bolt right in place. I didn't grab the bolts from the BG, and the BD ones had big old washers on them, so I had to buy a couple bolts....but no big deal.
It's a little bit narrower, for sure. But I bet 99% of people wouldn't be able to tell without a direct comparison.

a little late to the game here...
I have a 95 legacy (BD) sedan and wanted a wagon's seat bottom b/c they fold up. As you've now figured out they're totally interchangeale with respect to bolting locations, but the wagon seat is a scosh narrower. But if you get the little plastic bits to cover the metal framing lateral to the seat bottom, it all looks factory. I haven't yet retrofitted a bar for the spring latch to clasp, effectively tieing the seat bottom down.
I got the wagone seat (matching fabric from maybe an outback, I forget) so I could fold up the seat bottom up and lay the seat backs flat...turns out I can also lie down in the trunk. I've slept in the trunk on hunting trips a few times, so its a useful mod for me, not just for hauling stuff. ;)
I find the wagon seat is less padded compared to the sedan, BUT I drive so I never notice what its liks sitting in the back seat. In the end It may be better evern now since the back seat is the kid hauler now, not a factor when I did the swap.

Interesting... so I should be able to find a leather BG bottom seat and swap it over.
Nice!
