If you guys didnt catch it, Discount Tire is holding 50 dollar rebates for Pirelli tires. Thought I would tell ya guys. Oh yeah, it ends on the 27th.

I was going to go out and buy new tires for my BD. First I looked for a decent 17 with tire combo, and tried looking on the forums for used deals. Too much money. I think ill stick with the stock wheel.

Two choices. One is go with avon m550's from tire rack with the road hazard and shipping for 391. Two is go with Pirelli Nero M&S for 513 (minus $50 rebate) with their replacement plan, or 452 (minus 50 dollar rebate).

Has anyone dealt with either's plans? Tire Racks plan seems to be a lot better and includes repairs. My budget for tires was 400, but maybe spending the extra 60 for better tires and the plan is worth it?

I just recently got a set of General Exclaim UHP tires from tirerack for $62 a piece and they rock. They are the #1 rated tire in their size (205/55/16) on tirerack and also the cheapest. They are very sticky and wet traction is amazing. Only downside is that the sidewalls are a bit soft but if you run them at a high pressure (like 40 psi) then they firm up. I recommend them.

Discount rocks. They've never done me wrong. They have helped me and alot of my friends when it came to a flat, they'd repair it or replace the tire. If the tire couldn't be replaced with their protection plan, they'd chop the cost on the new one down a little. Plus they're everywhere, so if you do get a flat or something, you won't have to worry about finding a discount to get it fixed at (atleast they're everywhere in CO). I don't know how tirerack actually implements their tire services. Do you have to ship the tire in to get it fixed, or do you get it fixed at local shops and send the invoice in or what?

Legacy: you got me excited, but those are summer tires, and I wanna go with an all season to last me through college without getting another set of tires.

Plays: There are no discount tires close to here, so I dont know how that hurts me. Tire rack reimburses for repairs, and I forget how they handle replacements.

I still can't decide. According to forums the nero is the best, but on the reviews they say they suffer some in winter. Avon is currently number 1, and also saves me 60 dollars over the nero's, and I don't have to mess with a mail in rebate. I leaning towards the avons.

I can't say enough good about Discount, sucks that there are'nt any near you. You caould ask if they partner with anyone else in your area though. Their replacement certificates are the bomb. In the 4 years I had my 17's on my dub I never had to buy a new tire. Seeing as how I would usually get a bubble in the sidewall (Kuhmo's, nuff said) they would replace the tire for $13 a piece.

I just ordered the Avons. I went with those cause of the 70 dollar saving (and not dealing with a mail in rebate), tire rack seems to work with most other tire shops, and Avons seem to have better reviews in the snow than the Nero's do.

Now.. how do I say good-bye to my old worn out dunlops?
