So, finally getting around to putting this up even though I bought the car in Nov. 2012. I have wanted one of these for about 3 years now and have been waiting till I had the money to put down and all that other great stuff. Well, as it goes I was on Autotrader like I spent most of my time just browsing and came across this beauty and initially called my dad and told him I found his new car. He said he wasn't interested at the moment but that maybe I should consider it. So I called the bank not really with the intention and got approved for the car. Since it was an 05 and not older I could actually get enough of loan to not have to put anything down. Which I wouldn't have wanted to since I didn't want a car payment yet. So, next I called to get a quote for insurance and it was like 75 bucks. Well, crap. I was hoping they would say 200 dollars or something so I could stop thinking about it. So, again I called my dad and said I got approved and insurance is low would you mind taking a look at it? He is very good at buying cars from dealerships and he has helped me walk away from a few others cars, one in paticular a SpecB that would have been a major disaster. So he took a look and gave me the go ahead and that next weekend I went up with my buddy to go pick her up. My buddy kept bothering me the whole week because I wasn't excited enough. I tried to tell him that he didn't understand and that I have played this game with myself many times before and decided against it.
In the end all my waiting payed off. It isn't a limited but that is ok. All Suby sunroofs leak anyways, haha. It is the color I wanted, Satin White Pearl, the year 04-05, and 5spd, and a GT. Mileage was a factor and with only 82,000 it was a great deal in my opinion. And to top it all off there are about 4 grand of upgrades all ready.
When I arrived at the BMW dealership she was waiting.

On a side note, in about 2 years the cars well be flooding the market. They are already in the 9-12K range and if you are patient you can get what you want at a really good deal. I walked out after paying 11,100 and couldn't be more happy. Stepping in this after driving a FWD 90 Legacy that is N/A for 6 years is night and day. Everything about this car Subaru did right. And I thing they did the first gen Legacy right as well. The use of actuall pading on the dash and door panels they carried over into the 4th gen. Even the newer WRX Limited have a completely plastic dash and it just disappoints me. The instruments, the buttons, the accents on the buttons at night. Using red instead of the old green or Nissan orange just makes it feel that much more luxury.

I still have them but they are 17s and 18s look a little better. They used to be rims that I always saw in car mag and was like man I want those but now that I have them, not so much. They need to be repaired a little and painted. Maybe put them on the 91SS.

Thanks. I am thinking about doing the lines when I have to do the pads and rotors (one is warped) on my 3.0R. But that won't be for a while....

Ah, yeah... they'd look great on the SS.

Nice purchase! And low mileage as well.

I can relate, I've driven my 95 legacy for almost 10 years and just bought an 05 GT limited, 133k miles though. The night and day difference is awesome, and that luxury... I agree with everything you're saying about the 4th gen GT.

How much are you going to modify it? I'm not sure where exactly I'll be headed with mine.

Well, it is setup for stage 2 I just need a tune. AEM intake, Full exhaust, stock top mount and turbo though. Nothing to crazy, want it to be a highway cruiser. I still have all the Spec B control arms I need to put in as well and the steering wheel. But, I would be happy with just STi numbers. Want it to be reliable.

That sounds good, nothing insane, should be reliable. I'll probably go that way as well since I want mine to eventually replace my old car as the daily driver.

Good luck with the modding!

lol, I wasn't sure if you'd be happy about my purchase. I was so sure about the 3.0R, but then this silly GT came along...
MR1 thread will be up maybe this weekend. I need a few more pictures of it.

Sorry for the thread jack SILINC3R, carry on!

So I painted the Spec B rims. Wanted to do something different than gold since that is what most Subaru owners do, myself included. Got Brembos on the front. But since I didn't want to get new rims had to get H&R 15mm pacers and extended studs to replace the factory. replaced my stuck right rear caliper and replaced the seals in all 4 calipers. Painted the calipers silver because I wanted to keep the somewhat stealth look. Plus the rear aren't Brembos so I didn't want anything to flashy. All new Stoptech pads and turned all 4 rotors. Installed Prosport Halo boost gauge and AEM wideband in the cubby location. Great fitment. Also installed my Spec B steering wheel and installed my 3rd stock TMIC, this one has been reinforced. I think that is it!
Not the best picture but it will do

Thanks man! They were sanded, bondo'd, sanded, primed, gloss black as base and then Galaxy Blue by rustoleum. And then clear coat.

I'm really diggin that galaxy blue color! It's darker than I thought it would be.

For the stock TMIC, does it have the "bulletproof" mod? With the metal pieces and metal zip ties?

yes I am on my 3rd TMIC since I have owned it and now have the Bulletproof set up. I am stage 2 running16-17 PSI. Currently having issues though. Turbo may be finally giving up.
