Hi guys (and gals). I'm just really intrigued as to the love of roof racks etc over there. In New Zealand we tend to go a very smooth, clean look for our cars as that's what we believed you guys were into (think fast and furious styles) and the legacys over here with roof racks tend to belong to our yuppies and snow boarders. It's not an attack on anyones tastes, I just find it interesting is all. Many thanks for any input :)

have included some photos of what the subie club that I'm in over here

About the same as us... Just depends on the person. I have a roof rack for just about every car...

Most people that have them, have them because it makes your car more useful. I have packed a complete Honda Civic front end in my BD with the hood strapped to the roof.

I have a 3rd cross bar for my Toyota so I can go get 20feet pieces of steel or lumber. Better then hooking up my 10mpg 3/4 ton GMC and trailer when I can take my little pickup that gets 26mpg.

But like I said, it depends on the person.. I never leave them on if I'm not using them. I have many customers and friends that leave them on 24/7.

I had one that I built. It was stupidly heavy and made my fuel mileage drop like a rock but it held my full size spare tire so I could keep tools in my spare tire well instead.

I took it off because I had to drive 1,000 miles on the interstate and it wasn't worth it. Plus, it keep growing trees and junk and stuff.

By the way, those cars you posted reminded me that Subaru of America really jipped us. Thanks.

Lol!! My pleasure ;) In saying that our guys over here have just chucked massive amounts of cash and time and research into their cars but we did get pretty lucky. However there is a lot of stuff over there that I can't get my hands on and would desperately love to buy :( Thanks all for clearing that up for me :)

What is it that you're looking for? I might be able to help ya out... :smt023

But yeah, for rack's... I even figured out how to make a Yakima Q-tower rack fit on my JDM Pulsar and they have NO fitment listing for it. All because I want to haul my mountain bike, snowboard, or kayak on the roof of that. Jut because I can...

The Volvo has a Safari basket and my GT-B even has a Yakima setup for it.

Loved the sport edition of the 06-08 SG. Also my favorite roof rack.

Here's a roof rack & light setup I love:

mmmm, big shopping lists! it's generally shipping that's a killer! I was looking at an STI carbon fibre badge on ebay. Badge was $15 but shipping is like $50! I don't understand why? If wasn't for shipping there's a nice carbon bonnet and bodykit that I would love lol :D maybe it could swing both ways, we have jdm grills and stuff that I understand you guys are after and there's stuff I is after...
