View Full Version : How do them door cards come out?
I've been thinking about doing the door cards on my 1997 Wagon, but I can't seem to find a how-to on removing them.

YOu have to remove the door panel and on the back, you will see the screw that holds the cards. I think there was a diy on this :smt017

Easy...
1. There is a screw under a cap right behind the interior door handle.
2. Then you have another one behind a cap on the arm rest.
3. Next you remove the tweeter cover and tweeter.
4. Then pop the panel clips off from the bottom to the top.
5. And to complete this, remove plugs for power window switches and such.
And your done!

Step 3 - the tweeter cover just pulls right off, unplug the tweeter and the tweeter just pulls right off.
Step 4 - Start at the bottom of the door card away from the hinge and use a flat screwdriver or body clip tool to pop the retainers along the bottom. There are maybe four across the bottom and one up the front side. Then the door card pulls straight up to clear some clips at the window edge. You will have to play with the door release to get it clear of the door card.
Step 6 - There are about 12 screws on the back of the door card that hold on the inserts. remove them and the insert comes right off. Replace with any insert you want or recover your own and reverse the steps to reinstall.
