Color matching your trim is not as easy as you would think...

If it is black plastic, you will need to do a butt load of prep work. It's best to find a set already painted, even if they are a different color. If raw plastic is not prepped right, the paint will flake right off. Less of a chance of that happening if it already has factory paint. I know a member on here that might have a full set he might not be using.

Yeah I was thinking that. I have a guy that was quoting me for a paint job of it for 200. If your buddy could do it for less than that I would do that forsure. I'm just one of those people that would like to try it before I drop some doe on someone else to do the work.

I just feel like a solid silver would look super clean. (Talking about side-skirts and front and rear bumper) just so we are on the same page.

Well, my friend has a set that are green. But all you would need to do would be to have then scuffed and painted.

Raw plastic would need to be cleaned, scuffed, adhesion promoter used, they the paint process starts. Other wise the paint will flake off inside of a year like mine did on my BD a few years ago.

That doesn't sound to hard. I think I may try it here in the next couple weeks. Read into it a bit more.

If you can find a local supplier for automotive paint they can mix you up a rattle can off of your paint code. I used National Coatings and Supplies (I believe they're a national chain) and used their rattle cans to color match the reflectors in my headlights when I did an HID retrofit. It was about $15/can but worth it to have the right color. Call around to your local auto parts stores and see who near you mixes automotive paint.
