Okay, this is probably gonna be a stupid question since I have the parts diagram in front of me, but are the rear wheel bearings just an unbolt/rebolt affair, or do I still have to press the wheel hubs in as well?

From what I have seen in the FSM, they are bolt off, bolt on.

I am curious on actually how involved this is, because I need to do them on my BE as well. The FSM makes stuff like this sound like you are changing a light bulb.

That reminds me of a joke...

How many Subaru techs does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

one, but he needs one hour and the official subaru light bulb changer to do it.

You guys are correct, the BE/BH got bolt in rear bearings. Remove caliper, rotor and axle nut, then remove the 4 - 14mm bolts from the backside and it'll come out. I usually find it easiest to leave a couple of the 14mm bolts in a few threads, and smack them using a hammer and a drift.

I tend to remove the ABS sensor so I don't accidentally mess it up.
