Just bought a 96 legacy wagon. Fixing all the bugs. The ABS light is on. I've tried retrieving the error codes with the appropriate proceedure, but the ABS light won't flash the codes. The proceedure I used was the one posted early on in this forum area. Anyone experience this? Possible bad ABS computer? I have checked for voltage at the ABS unit it's good. Fuse is good. Haven't uncovered the computer yet to check it's connections. The car was detailed and carpets cleaned, could water affect the computer? Thanks in advance.

My suspicions were comfirmed. I removed the ABS control unit, removed the cover. It was full of moisture. I've got it drying out in the oven(set for 180F). Will post results later today.

Yea, it all works now. Drying out fixed the issue. No ABS light. ABS working great!

Yup this is exactly what happened to me, washed the car and ABS stopped working. Let it dry and it all works.

Might want to consider stopping it from getting water on the unit... :D
