00-04 jdm hid headlight into usdm legacy

hey all, new to this forum, long time wrx owner (i-club and nasioc), just picked up a 2000 legacy L wagon and the headlights are yellowed beyond repair so im looking to buy new headlights

did a bunch of searching but can not find a definite answer on how to install the jdm hid headlights into a usdm legacy...there are these ones ( viewtopic.php?f=24&t=25573 (https://sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=25573) ) but it says for 95-99 only...will these work on a 2000?

i want a set of legacy b4 headlights and want to know before buying them that i can install them into a usdm car

Hi musubie, welcome to the forum! I've already replied in the other thread that you linked above (but for clarity here, no, the Gen 2 '95-'99 harnesses will not fit the Gen 3 '00-'04 Legacy). The thread linked above is a little misleading, those are for D-type headlights which require some modification to get to fit properly. If you buy A-C JDM headlights they will physically bolt right in with no modifications and everything will line up right. All you need to do is some basic wiring. The wiring portion is the same regardless of type.

Does it matter that the L uses the same bulb for hi/lo where the jdm has a two buld setup?
