Eventually ill be looking to upgrade my suspension but I cant decide what to go with. Im looking for something thats streetable so not interested in coil overs. My mates s13 has them and its so uncomfortable.

I do occasionally do some spirited driving so something thats comfortable but can also be sporty enough. Im fairly certain being an Australian car its pretty close to JDM land so most Impreza parts can be used except for when the hubs were changed obviously. Budget would be about $500

KYB GR2's and H&R springs... I have been in cars with STi and Bilies... I like my H&R's best. Nice ride, but stiff when they need to be.

Get the Bilsteins and King Springs Low. You should have no problems finding that combo in Australia.

Youd be surprised about that. Although we got Bilstein Libertys ive never seen one being parted or wrecked. I can get them from Japan for about 450 shipped though

Screw bilsteins setup from the GT-B. I had them.. and they suck! I hated the ride. Soft springs, bouncy suspension. Terrible overall. If you do get them, run a different spring, as the stock GT-B springs are terrible (especially used). May have just been my setup, but they were junk.. I would NEVER spend the money on them, ever again. Glad i sold them!

Get Eibach's used if you can find them (doubtful unless you wait and wait and wait and look), and KYB GR-2 struts. Best setup I've ever ran.

Next best would be Sti setup in my opinion or H&R if you want to go lower.

I currently run the Eibach lowering springs + GR-2 + 1" lift kit from subtle solution. best setup I've ran yet!!

I run sti struts and eibach springs and it is quite uncomfortable to DD. It is really bouncy. I think I will be switching the struts out for KYBs shortly

I had Eibachs and kyb's on my dd bd LGT. Perfect ride and handling was much improved. I also added an outback rsb and that helped a bit as well.

From my research with my wrx and LGT the Sti struts almost always affect ride quality negatively. I had Sti takeoffs on the wrx and it rode bad. Jittery over smooth surfaces. I quickly found some Prodrives. Food for thought. Good luck.

Are you comparing brand new Bilsteins + brand new GTB springs vs. new Eibachs and new GR2s?

If not, then you're not doing a fair comparison.

Bilsteins, for the money, make one of the best, most durable shocks for this chassis out there. Their valving is better than KYB and their manufacturing consistency is better. If you had been using GTB springs on your BD, I'd have told you it would have sucked because the GTB is at least 200lbs heavier than your BD - the twin turbo engine + the 100lbs of rear hatch, chassis and glass is the reason why.

You're not looking hard enough then!

You need to hit up some performance shops in the area that take in the GTB wagons and RSK's for modifications. Ask the vehicle owners to sell you their take offs.
Those shops might even have a nice line on an owner who is upgrading to coilovers, who probably had King Springs installed at some point.

Are the springs the same on RSB's?

RSB? You mean RSK, right?

RSK's are the sedan, so their rear springs are rated differently than the GTB, because the GTB has a much heavier tail.

I did find a couple of Bilstein Libertys being wrecked after looking on 10000 forums. Also found STi springs for GTB struts on japanparts

Best shock & spring combo I've had was KYB GR2 shocks & RS*R springs for the JDM RS sedan
