hey so after selling my 98 outback i decided i wanted to have a swapped legacy wagon so i took the money from the outback and picked up this baby for 1600. she has 290,000 on her but boy you'd never be able to tell. it's all leather interior, sunroof, power windows etc and dont a single dent on her:D as of 3/13/2013 its down at GARAGE DVO getting an ej20g engine and 5 speed tranny swap...

UPDATE
so i finally decided i was done with garage dvo as he could not seem to fix it after 5 almost six months so i went down with a friend and towed it back on a flat bed not running and the wiring a total mess. i am currently pulling out the dash and just took of the fenders to pull the wiring out and send it in to i wire and have them merge it.

this was her on the flatbed leaving the shop

Hmmm..... Thats a hard choice. Depends if your going to roll and pull the fenders. If not then your limited to the higher offset wheels

well here's the deal, the car was supposed to be done a month ago but the guy thats doing the swap is all done except for the fact that the car wont really run ha. so the car starts up ok most of the time but when you give it gas it bogs or it dies when you put the pedal down all the way. he's trying to figure it out but im just seeing if you guys might know anything, any help is appreciated . the engine is and ej20g out of a 1997 jdm forester, hes replaced the spark plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter, checked the injectors, cleaned the lines, iacv, and something else. thanks

fkearney39
05-30-2013, 02:48 AM
soo he did a compression test on the engine once it was all in, because the car just would run right and it had 200 in 3 cylinders a 75 in one -_- so now im waiting for a different engine to get here but lets hope this one works good ha

Second that! Are you paying for all the parts he is throwing at it? A low cylinder will have a shitty idle but I can't imagine that would cause it to stall out....

fkearney39
05-31-2013, 01:37 AM
well it's 4200 for the engine, tranny, new driveline, axles, ecu, putting it in and wiring, there's some other stuff im forgetting ha. and no all this extra stuff is at his expense not mine i just miss my car:/

elislider

seems expensive. you can buy these engine+trans swaps for $1500. $3000 to install and wire? I'd do it for half that :)

yeah but its a little more than just the engine and tranny plus if i go to sell it its nice to have proof a shop did it and have paper work. but on a separate note, the guy went to get a different motor and they told him that instead of sending another one they will just cover the costs of rebuilding it. sooo that sounds good to me haha should only take a week or two to rebuild because he also has to finish some other cars, been a process but whatever ill get it soon enough ha.

I actually really like this build. Who is doing the wiring merge?
The simple builds are the best. The 'get it running then modify it' aproach works. There are a couple builds on this site that the guy keeps putting more go fast parts on it before it runs... drives me crazy.
