Phase 2 pistons in phase 1 block/crank

Did a quick Google search didn't come up with the answer.

I am curious if 99 ej25 pistons work in a phase 1 25D block?

oh that's a good question, the short answer is maybe, connecting rods are a big part of the equation, the pistons will fit in the round hole no problem. but you need find out if the wrist pin holes are the same size and distance from the top of the piston, any difference will cause the piston to stick out too far and bash the head or not compress the air fuel mix enough the make any power. I am sure the wrist pin info is out there somewhere but it's late and I'm heading to bed.
