I decided this year i was going to build a proper motor for my wagon. currently its a ej22t running dohc heads with jdm sti cams and valve springs. 550 injectors td05 on a robtune
with my goal of bigger numbers and proper tuning im wanting to go obd 2.
i picked up v8 jdm sti heads with intake avcs, equal length header, oil pan, twin scroll turbo, downpipe, intake manifold with sensors and throttle body, wiring harness and ecu
just wondering if anyone who has done a swap can chime in with any issues i may run into
does the ecu need an electronic speed sensor or can i keep my cable for my cluster?
for oil pressure and coolant temp do i keep the stock sensors for my cluster and just run the one coolant temp sensor for the ecu?
the block this is all going onto will be a eh22t with scat h beam rods wiseco .020 forged pistons and arp head studs

Very cool build.. I just finished up a v.8 swap EJ207 MY03 STi on a BE & GC.
You have all the items to complete the swap. Just tap into the respected body harness points and all is good.
The v.8 ECU has no immobilizer and can be tuned with a Tactrix cable or Tactrix 2.0 module & EcuFlash 1.4b available from tactrix.com
The main issue you will run into is the lack of OBD1 which you are aware of.
So the simplest solution would be to find a donor OBD2 port or purchase a port online (whichever is easier) and wire it referencing the v.8 wiring.
I couldn't find a "english" version of the MY03 FSM but I did manage to find a MY02 v.7 EDM/EURO/UK FSM that had 95% of the correct wiring.
Besides the obvious such as boost controller (3-port OEM is a great option for larger turbo down the line but 2-port works) using a OEM boost controller allows you to have more control over your OpenSource tune.. We learned the hard way when we used a aftermarket AEM tru-boost and prevented us from using the "set by rpm" instead of just vacuum ..
The other issue is wiring in the avcs.. its mostly plug n play but take note when wiring in the neutral position safety switch.. polarity changes on generations and models.
The benefit with going to OBD2 is that you don't have to get sniffed when you get ur e-test. Assuming BC is using the same ON e-test standards..
However.. currently the JDM ECU will not communicate properly with the Ministry computer systems so swapping in a USDM 02~03 WRX ecu with a "proper etest tune *wink* " will fix that right away :-D

thanks that gives me a pretty good place to start
where i live there is no emissions tests or anything of the sort i need to deal with so im not concerned with emissions testing
ill have to look into getting all the boost solenoids and maf sensor cause i didnt get any sensors the werent attached to the intake manifold or heads . once the motor is assembled it will be easier to lay out the harness and figure out what i am missing

looks like im probably just going with i-wire from rs25 to do all my wiring should save me a whole lot of headaches
