Just trying to get a second opinion on what to get for a hood. The paint on my legacy hood has begun to peel, and I've found two around 75 dollars in junkyards. One is forest green(the stock color on my wagon), and the other is balck.

Id go with stock color, im not really a fan of black hoods on not black cars, even if its a carbon hood id rather have it painted, it just looks ghetto imo. But at the end of the day its up to you and your taste

get a can of plastidip and spray it on your hood. Then when your sick of the black hood you can easily peel it off and go back to the stock color.

Plasti dip will be flat black opposed to gloss black. Flat black on green I wouldn't do. On my 95 bk I had a stock black hood on my red/gray. Looked pretty nice I thought so anyways lol. Best thing to do is do some photoshopping. U save money and time doing so lol

I would use the forest green hood to match the rest of the car. The only reason I would have a black hood is if the right color was not available at that time, which might be happening with my car...

Keep in mind that it it's a black GT hood it is going to have a lot of red tint to it in the sun. I hate that about my car, why can't it just be pure black.

I have a black GT hood on my green BK now. It's at the bodyshop now getting the rear quarter panel replaced and the body man asked me if i wanted the hood painted the same color as the rest of the car when it gets sprayed and i said no thanks......

^how come? The white legacy in your member's ride thread also has a black scooped hood. And it looks ok to me! It's definitely a different style. I kinda feel like it's associated with something ricer, but if a black hood on a different color car is as "ricer" as your car gets, then I think it's fine, and not ricer. If you get what I'm saying.

The red tint thing is something I noticed as well...

Had to replace a hood on my wifes car with a oem non painted one (plastic flat black color lol ). I was going to repaint the whole car later on. Man that car looked so riced out... To top it off its a civic lol

Car color... When I think of a black hood on any car that does not match the rest of the paint, I think 2 things. Mopar from the 70's and beater Honda's.

The Mopar look is cool, they were the originators, but the Honda look is ghetto and pointless. I think the plasti Dip idea is best, but cause if you decide you dont like it, it will come off and also if for some reason you want to sell your car, 9 out of 10 people will not want a black hood on a non black car.

Another thing you can do is get black vinyl like Thom did. That is a reversible thing also, where if you want to later, remove it.

If it was Carbon Fiber, that would be different, but in this case it's not. So I say dont do it.

If you go with a black hood, stock paint or plasti-dip, I would leave the scoop trim green. Just a thought!

Plasti dip will be flat black opposed to gloss black...

They sell "glossifier" which is a plastidip clear coat.. just sayin'

black hood = rice.. wanabe carbon fiber.. the only black paint panel should be the roof to match the c/f hood/trunk... but thats just me..

Stock color!

Yup black hood on car that's not black...disgusting and so fast and furious. Not clean at all. If I had a cf hood I'd still paint it stock color.

I agree with the honda ricer look, we have a large Asian population here and so obviously there is a lot of hondas/ricers all over, about half of them I swear have a black panel or hood on them and thats all that would remind me of I guess, and half of those have 16" rims in back with 14" steelies in front.. idk to ricer for my taste.

Currently have a flat black painted hood on my wagon because the stock one was pretty scratched and dinged up when I bought the car and I found a really cheap white hood so I just painted it temporarily. I do admit It looks very ghetto lol. Probably going to get it wrapped.

I'd say that look depends alot on the style and or stock color of the car. Some cars can pull it off, others not so much.
