I'm thinking of getting this exhaust:

What do you think? I like that they sound test their exhausts.

That's crazy looking and apparently, a direct fit. I didn't even think those existed for our cars.

That being said, most of us on here are cheap and that is really expensive for a what appears to be, just an axleback. You can buy a high quality muffler and have an exhaust shop make you one for less than $200.

Yea I know it's on the steep side, but my first and utmost concern is sound quality. I want it to be low and have a nice tone when DD'ing, but when I open up the throttle I want it to bellow the boxer rumble that is so well known. And not be raspy.

The intake, head, and UEL header are all ported. For the record.

Agree, its really expensive. Just buy an oval muffler (sounds quieter than the canister ones) and use the rest of the money for a high flow cat, resonator, rest of the piping and installed for that price.

Ive seen this exhaust but passed on it due to the price. If want to try it out, you would probably be the first Legacy I know to have it. Maybe this muffler will make the car sound awesome! If you are willing to spend the money, definitely go for it. And with being direct fit, if you dont like it, you can take it off and slap on the oem muffler.

A resonator? I hadn't even considered putting one back in the exhaust line. Also I've been toying with the idea of deleting the cat entirely, a test pipe is what they call it right? I'd keep the OEM one for whenever I have to get a inspection, just swap them out real quick.

Is there a reputable brand of high flow cats?

Keep the resonators in. It will keep the drone to a minimum and give you what you want. As for the cat, the same one that you saw on my post in the LGT forum seems to be pretty good. No issues so far and the CEL hasn't come on.

I've decided when I replace the midpipe it will get a 18" resonator. I am strongly considering the Tsudo high flow, I'm going to see if I can have one made for cheaper at a shop. There's a vendor on RS25.com who supposedly has them for $219 shipped, so that's the price to beat. Stromung has one also but it's like $300.

This one is $189 shipped for just the HFC. When I got the shop to do one on my 97 it was $275 installed.
