Anyone else wonder why....O2 sensors are so darn pricey???

It seems like just a simple sensor that read some fumes to make sure your engine is right.....Why does something that seems so simple cost so much.

It's because it's so damn important lol. If u don't like the plug n play price but a universal one its half the price and ull have to splice into the original plug. Not recommended btw

Shop around specially ebay and you'll find the direct plug in one for half the price of local parts store

Cheapest i found online was around $65-70 for the upstream o2. I went to Autozone and they had one for $62.99 and i didnt have to wait for it.

But I do agree with you... however the O2 sensor takes an absolute BEATING environmentally. Can you imagine if your head was in a pipe with hot noxious gasses hitting you at over 100F, while your butt was hanging out in sub-zero temperatures, all while being beaten with rocks, debris and mud?
