Tach and Speedometer just quit. Wait their back

Anybody else have this problem. Sometimes it happens when I start it. I flick the plastic and they pop up into place. This morning my speedometer pinned itself all the way over and then back to its correct speed. Is it time for an exorcism or just a new gauge cluster. I haven't done any mods to the gauges. Maybe this would be a good time to crack it open and do Marks Mod. I drive a 2000 LGT

sounds like poor electrical connections, something's pegging because it is recieving a bad signal. Try cracking open your guage cluster, if you'd like to do the mod, go ahead, and check all the copper connectors (I don't know exactly what it looks like) for corrosion, burning, etc...

I also have the intermittent speedo (but not the tach). I get it more during the winter - and it usually goes away when I hit 25mph+.

Which leads me to believe it's a grounding issue.
