Ask James at www.eastcoastswapper.com (http://www.eastcoastswapper.com) he has been helping me out.

James knows his stuff. and its actually www.eastcoastswappers.com (http://www.eastcoastswappers.com)

However, they do more motor swaps than anything else. I know mark has a good link for this subject. (wisconmark)

Unless your car's already really modded, it'd be a whole lot easier, and possibly cheaper in the long run to just trade it for a 5MT car.

It is how you look at it. I wouldn't trade my car in for another BD for the fact that I know how my car is and what has been done to it. If you where trade up to something newer than yea go for it. I'm told all the time to trade mine in for an STi or the new GT. I would like to have either one of those cars but not the payments to go with it. I can make my car fast and fun to drive for half the money. I also like how the BD's are vs the other generations. So when it comes down to it, you lay it all on the table and say to yourself is it worth the money to do it? It would be easier to trade it in but what can of car and problems will come with it? Should I go brand new and get big payments? etc.. Good luck with your decision.

I think he meant more just sell it an buy a BD that is already a 5mt. If you have the knowhow to do it yourself it isnt that expensive, however I would indeed reccomend to not waste the time, save your money, and swap an engine, trans, and everything else at the same time

I don't have the know how... and there is no way in hell i'm trading this car for any other Legacy. I learned to drive in this car and know it inside and out...I know what it's been through with me and when my mother drove it, plus I don't have to make any payments... It's been fully payed off.

If it were me I would save my money until I could afford exactly what I wanted. Just my tcw.

My parents bought this car for my mom to drive from to CT to NY for work. They don't like 5MT in the stop and go traffic. Then i got hit with an automatic insted of the 5mt i really want and will some day have.

reason drove my 5MT with a broken shifter spring and a jumpy passenger (me) and still LOVED it compared to his auto.

you'll love having a manual!

You have more control over a manual than you do with an suto... and it's more fun to drive...

I love driving my parents Mazda 3 with there sport shifters (the manual setting on there automatics... no clutch :( )

and i loved test driving an 05 STi with a boost control
