So, Sunday morning i decided to take my car for a cruise around the neighborhood and i happened to get pulled over by a cop i know quite well. seeing as i don't have my license and no one was in the car i got 3 tickets improper plates, non licensed operator, non registered vehicle. seeing as im 16 almost 17 ad with no job i am forced to sell my legacy :smt011 but I think this is also a blessing not just a curse. my obsession with subarus has pulled me away from all other cars, me being a car guy i feel i need to get back in touch with another car. So i might not be ale to get my license until i turn 18 which would give me time to work on a project car. head gaskets are not enough anymore ive done them 3 times. although this car i will be able to flip a pretty hefty profit on i spent 1000 total on the car so many new parts from the last owner and i put 200 into for parts i plan to get around 2500 hopefully. but back to the story one of my best friends dad has a 1983 datsun 280zx. its the turbo 5 speed version. being in new york these are hard to find. This is the kicker though :-? its a Louisiana car with low miles and its in NY but its been stored for around 17 years because it needed a fuel pump when it was put away. i assume it will need all new fluids, fuel pump, select gaskets like valve cover gaskets spark plugs wires small things just to get it running nice. then i think ill drive this as a summer car and buy another subaru once this is all done and i have a job to buy another subaru hopefully a 4th gen sedan! or something but seeing as i wont have a subaru anymore. it doesnt mean im not coming back to this site! after all im going to be an sl-i Lifer!

That's bullshit that you got a ticket for being in your neighborhood. How "well" do you know the cop?

^ no joke! When I got my first S13 (was a complete POS) I took it for a spin around the neighborhood and got pulled over. Happened the be the same cop I reported my Celica stolen to 2 weeks before. The car had no tabs and a super loud exhaust! He let me go with a warning. I think I was about 19 or 20...

ouch.. I know how that feels.. I was pissed when I got my ticket the 2nd day I had my car, I didn't realize I was even speeding considering I was still used to how my Civic felt.. Felt like I was going 30.. I was going 42 and got a ticket for 17 over... told the cop I had just got the car but he still gave it to me, course I didn't "know" this cop either but still, I was still getting used to how the car drives. Sorry to hear u'll have to sell it, but hope the learning experience with other cars goes well.

ive ran into this officer a few times before. him and i get along really well considering the first time i met him i damn near ripped his head off. but he let me off easy and i was literally 2 streets away from my house a 30 second drive!
