After 3.5 years I decided to hook up the city lights on my JDM headlights. I used blue LEDs to separate the lights to give you guys an idea. Right now they are tied into the fog lights. When my fogs come in I will hook them both up to an independent switch.

*Note, the blue lights arent staying*

so that's what fills in the dark spot between the corner and headlight!

hm, they don't make a silverstar 194...

by the way, yours may be JDM, but mine have the hole for the 194 as well :P

I have white LEDs to match the HIDs that I will be getting. I never noticed the hole on the USDMs. You are going to have to show me next time I see you.

Just so you know your attracting cops attentions with the blue lights. Law prohibites any blue or red lights on the front of passanger cars.

just an FYI

Depends on your states laws. It is perfectly legal in NY as long as the blue is not a very bright, intense color, and as long as it does not flash. I have seen many a car with blue, green, and red accessory lights (such as washer nozzle lights) on the front of them and have never been pulled over. Including myself at one point in time  (i don't know what I was thinking... :P )

BTW, those look good Shane

i think theyll look much better in the white leds as you plan to do.as for in NY a buddy of mine was recently pulled over for having red washer nozzles and ticketed,he was told by the trooper that the lights couldnt be red, blue,or white.

im 99% sure it is national law that there is no blue / red lights on front of passenger cars.

The washer nozzles are illegal if red or blue just most cops dont care about them

I put those in for the picture only. I have amber LED's right now. I'm waiting for my white LED's to come in.

Problem solved!! :)

Careful though. Sometimes white lights have a blue glass casing (a yellow light with a blue glass shell in certain models will allow only white light to pass through). My local SPT MOD-friendly Subaru shop wouldn't pass the car with the blue shelled lights even though they were white visible. That is NH law though...

I had PIAA xtreme white tail directionls for the past inspections and had no problems in RI. I have "white" LED's (more like has a blue tint, The blues are like what is in my picture) the white should match the HIDs perfectly.

so,

i'm in the process of doing this to a set of USDM headlights. (one piece BD's)

(yes, i painted the silver part black, and no I don't want to hear about it)

so here is the headlight without the lense,

as you can see, there is a 3rd spot for the city lights,

I cut the hole on the inside, haven't done the one on the back yet.
(sould take some time, with a dremel)

Nice phil, let us know the end results. I thought about painting the chrome black too. Just never could put myself taking my JDM head lights apart.
