I'm thinking of doing Delta 1500 or 2000 cams and having some head work done, what should I be aiming for with head work? I want something still DDable be a little ruff idle or occasional idle search doesn't bother me. Will the head work change from 1500 cam's to 2000's?

Is it worth it to have the intake and exhaust manifold ported? I have Borla UEL headers coming in the mail that I am going to get ceramic coated as grimmspeed is only an hour from me. What about being port matched? I never head much about this, most places you send your thing off in the mail to then so there would be no way of matching it to the ports on your car, wouldn't this be more important than porting?

Yes Porting and Port Matching are two different things. Enlarging the ports not just the opening but inside the runners helps increase volume. Yes Port Matching the heads to the manifold(s) is important however most of the time the porting does not enlarge the opening by that much in order to still use the proper gasket sets.

On the delta level.. What are you building this for, are you getting a tune and why do you want such an aggressive cam?

Delta 1000 is the street friendly cam that wont give you that much wondering idle problems.

Well the 1000 grind is a torque low end grind that runs out of steam at 4-5k rpm's, I want to have power all the way until reline or at-least 6k. Plus they cost the same as the 1500 and 2000's so more power for money.

I'm not planning on a tune, cams and even a turbo will run without it, I would get one but the ECU learns around a piggy back and a stand alone is a lot of money. If I have a WRX or flash-able ECU I wouldn't do anything without a tune.

Argine had 2000intake 1000exhaust grind before they had 1500 grinds and he said he only got idle search every once and a while and it wasn't that bad.

I need to do head and valve gaskets so I figured id throw in cam's while I'm at it and that would make more sense than a turbo kit.
