Front yes.
Rear no .. 00+ is mult-link ... different rear ends.

if you plan on using the R180 diff then you need Spec B rear axles or hybrid axles to fit the R180 to the BE5 hubs + 4EAT Gen2/3 legacy driveshaft/prop shaft.

thanks chuck. great news on the front. shit on the back.

driveshaft is no problem, i would have a one peice made.

is the legacy diff a R160?

what im thinking about is getting the whole ver8 drivetrain subframe and all. want the brembos, 5x114.3, 6 speed, and engine.

I did this for Bataru recently check his build thread for some info.

Yes the Legacy uses the R160 diff. I am not 100% sure about the JDM models but USDM only the Spec B came with 6MT non DCCD + R180 + R160 hubs.
The BE+ rear axles have the abs sensor ring on the outside portion so even if you could fit the rear setup from a GD the ABS would be an issue.

No easy way of saying this but you need the brembo caliper adapters + modify/grind the rear spindles a bit to clear the adapters + the hybrid or Spec B axles.

Sourcing a Legacy 4EAT is cheap and will hold plenty of power.. I have a friend rocking a 450awp RSTi with a 4EAT driveshaft.. no issues.

Make sure the 6MT has the x-member and reverse lockout cable still attached.

You will have to build a hybrid steering U-joint by pressing out the U-joints or cutting and welding them together.. I have not seen documented / never done a GD steering column replacement.. so it may work.. don't see why not..

You don't need to play around with your brake booster or clutch master unless you want to change pedal travel and pressure... not recommended.

Wiring I would assume you would still merge harnesses but I have no idea what the twin turbo harness looks like and if it uses a 5-plug 16-bit ecu.

Good luck with the swap...

Oh.. i c.. you said BE5 which is JDM EJ206 twin turbo.. BE9 is EJ251 USDM..

Moving along..

When you get the swap make sure you get the boost controller / solenoid (mounted to the passenger strut tower)

You will need a USDM 2004 STi steering rack since you're bringing over a RHD rack :-(

Wiring harness merging is same as any other Subaru.. do it yourself.. pay someone.. whatever.. its a nightmare the first time but its doable..

I can not stress this enough.. DO NOT purchase a CUT HARNESS!!! make sure its only cut at the body portion and NOT firewall to engine portion.

Tuning can be done with a Tactrix cable & EcuFlash 1.4b .. emissions is another issue... contact me through pm if u wana talk regulations..

This is the standard setup..

If he does what I did, it shouldn't cost him a thing. Mine was all shipped as "household goods".
