Our 03 outback has what feels like a shifting wheel when making a slow sharp left turn. Jacked up the car and shaking at 3&9 o'clock the passenger front feels like it has more play than the drivers. You could also hear a clicking.

One garage said the ball joint is bad and another shop said its fine and claims its a broken belt in the tire. Need help ASAP

From my experience with ball joints is they shake around 60 mph or so if they're bad but you said it shakes which would be a play on the ball joints.

Why don't you switch the tires (front to back) and see if it still does it. If not then its your tires, if so then its most likely your ball joint. Assuming your rear wheel is in good condition

The English alphabet doesn't have enough letters to list all the "technicians" that was supposed to fix the problem.

Well you know how this stuff goes. Take it for a drive to show them and it magically works fine.

3&9 o'clock is generally for checking tie rods while diagonal like 4:30&10:30 for ball joints, good way to check is have one person move the wheel the second to look where the play is, most of the times if you put your finger/hand on it you can feel movement better than by looking at it.

I'm having similar problem, I'm thinking it's a ball joint after reading the posts above

Yeah, we replaced everything else. Had 5 mechanics look at it
