I don't know about those, I'm kinda deadset on the Pirelli P-zero Nero M+S's, now that my brother has them on his Impreza and I've had a chance to take it out, heat them up and abuse them, they are a good way to go. Not too expensive (if sticking to stock size 205/55/R16 they cost ~110 bucks a tire. You can get them from www.tires.com (http://www.tires.com) for much cheaper than tirerack.com or go to town fair tire, probably your best bet because they mount and align the tires for 60 bucks or something not so expensive. I have yet to try them out in snow but all the reviews I read on tirerack rated them one of the highest. Plus it has a little more aggressive tread, has excellent dry/wet traction, and beats out most for snow traction. I take it you are looking for all-seasons...if you were going to split up summer/winter tires and rims I'd say grab these for winter and get a set of Hankook ventus K104's or whatever the number is for summer-time...one of the top rated for max dry/wet grip of the "summer" tires in European Car magazine. BFG's are for SUV's! You've got a subaru, keep some sport to your car!

I have been running BFG tires since '87 on alot of hot rods and trucks great tires..........not just for suv's .........where did you get that idea........?
By the way BFG is a division of Michelin!
I am currently running the tracion ta's on my '03 outback and love them !!!
I can stick like glue in the corners and break trail in heavy snow up to a foot!!!
I have about 11,000miles on them and no complaints! :D

I just bought these tires. I am very pleased with them. Tommorow i will compete in a rallycross with them and i am confident they will perform well. Good all around tire, to match our good all around car.

OK, my local Cosco Tire Center can order them for $475 for a set mounted a balanced on my Mom's '03 Legacy GT sedan. So how long these things last driven by a MOM! Are they noisy at highway speeds, tread looks like it might be? She is looking for a long wearing quite all-season. It will see snow, but she avoids driving in it and ANYTHING is better than the stock RE92's!! :x

Tire rack reviews say these tires are GREAT in snow but are noisy and some times wear real fast?? Can't have that at over $100 a tire on my MOM's car.

I bet you they wear kinda fast if you let ooberdoob or Scottzg drive them ;)
For your mom though, they shouldn't be much of a problem ;)

For all of you non-GT owners, i have a very low mileage set for sale that fits a 16" rim. Pretty much name your price.
I have a set on my BE as well. I am not using them for winter, but are an excellent summer tire, low noise, and are supposed to be very good all year round. The tread wear is supposed to be good as well. I believe that they have a 70,000mi warrenty IIRC.
DOT ratings...
Treadwear: 440
Traction: AA
Temperature: A

Bought a set of 4 wheels off a GT with traction T/A's on them, had about 7000 miles on em. good tires much better that the michlens that were on the car (95 BD), had 195-55-15's got 205-60-16's, one thing i did notice was that before with the stock size tires the spedo was under by about 2 mph, and now it's one to one and a half over. hope this helps.
I had a set on my RS and now have a set on my wife's Outback Sport. Decent dry and wet traction, better than avg. in snow and reasonably quiet on the road. And long wearing too. 50k treadlife iirc.
