I couldn't find any topic on this. If there's one mods can delete.

I'm going to rebuild my engine (EJ25) soon and since I'll be doing that on my own are there any tips from more experienced guys? It's my first engine rebuild ever and here in Brasil there are very few Subarus so sometimes mechanics can't help with more specific stuff.

I read that things like the oil separator in the back of the engine is something that could cause leaks so it's good to replace it.

Anything else?

Yep, absolutely get the rear oil baffle plate of doom. Make sure you get the entire kit - plate and the new screws.

You'll want to get a complete OEM (NOT eBay/aftermarket) gasket set. Trust me, I've used the eBay gasket kits and almost every gasket I've had to go back and replace.

Make sure and get a set of plasti-gauges to check clearances with.
