ok so im stuck..... got the motor dropped, wiring ran, and now i have no spark.... ignighter tested good coil tested good replaced the crank and cam sensors and still nothing..... any ideas? ecu has power and i have fuel only things not hooked up are the o2 sensor and i hardwired the fuel pump..... any suggestions would be appriciated. the harness has been completely stripped so no test connecters under dash stuff etc.

basicly im looking to find out what exactly needs to be hooked up so that the computer will send a spark signal

Have you rebuilt this motor, had the heads off, reset timing, swapped crank/cam gears ever?

no not since ive owned it

timing belt was replaced when the build started YES i know for a fact its timed correctly

Have you checked the ignition relay circuit?

ignition relay is working properly and is hooked up correctly, it cranks just no spark at all changed the wires and even put in fresh plugs

So just to double check ..

Both cam gears are from the matching EJ22T long block and the cam + crank sensors are for the same EJ22T?

You are 100% sure that your timing is proper? No skipped tooth?

Have you checked that the sensors are actually functioning? They may be faulity..

There is very little needed to run a OBDI motor .. O2 sensors are not needed neither is the fuel pump signal. Hard wire is fine.

100% sure checked it 4 times already lol cam and crank sensors were replaced with NOS parts as they were totally rotted out. im trying to locate proper range of the sensors so i can test to see if they are good but no luck finding the info yet

Do you have the FSM from my signature link? ?

i do now! but i still dont see a voltage range for turbo sensors

alright thank you ill be checking those and checking back in here after that is done

sensors are within acceptible range and the fuel pump has been rewired to the ECU and still nothing

Have you tested the 3 wire connector that goes to the coil pack? Is it sending the signal to fire? This after all a waste spark system.

the connector has voltage but im not seeing a pulse at the coil. also i rewired the fuel system to the ECU and its not priming. could this be a grounding issue im looking at?

Fuel pump sounds like a ground issue.

I would start to probe the main relay and check for continuity from the ECU to the relay to the connector for the coilpack

there is continuity as that is the first thing i thought of and checked

Curious.. what did you do with neutral safety switch?

Also doing some research I found your other posts about "dogknotting" the grounds.. As you said you should run them individually.

Do you know for a fact if the harness is all hooked up correctly?

as the xt never had a neutral saftey switch i just bypassed it. it cranks so that should be fine as every car ive ever had that had a neutral saftey switch wont even crank if its not depressed.

Iirc the 22t ecu needs that signal to run.

it has that signal all the time i just hardwired the switch.
